- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Adaptable and creative in addressing diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students with visual impairments, tailoring educational materials as needed
- Assess student abilities, tracking progress towards established goals
- Consult with general education teachers to modify curriculum, classrooms, and environments for accessibility
- Provide training and resources to school staff and families on working with visually impaired students
- Utilize assistive technology and teach students to use it effectively
