Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Riverside, California

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid, active state license as a Visually Impaired Teacher (TVI)
- Demonstrated experience working with visually impaired children or in special education settings
- Expertise in creating and modifying Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Familiarity with assistive technology for the visually impaired
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility to adapt to a variety of classroom situations and student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ functional vision and develop individualized instructional plans
- Deliver adaptive lessons using Braille, tactile materials, and technology
- Provide direct instruction in academic and daily living skills
- Coordinate with general education teachers and paraprofessionals
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with educational standards
- Advocate for student needs within the school and district
