Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification/license as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)

- Comprehensive understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and orientation & mobility concepts
- Ability to develop IEP goals and adapt curriculum to individual needs
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and family engagement
- Organized, proactive, and passionate about accessibility and student success
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Instruct students in specialized skills such as Braille literacy and technology use
- Consult with classroom teachers to ensure instructional materials and classroom environments are accessible
- Advocate for appropriate accommodations and inclusion in all school activities
- Maintain accurate records and progress documentation in compliance with local and federal guidelines
