- Effective communication and advocacy for student needs
- Organizational skills for managing caseloads and documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students with visual impairments
- Modify and adapt classroom materials to ensure accessibility
- Provide direct instruction in visual efficiency, orientation and mobility (in coordination with specialists), and assistive technology use
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement accommodations and support students across various classroom settings
- Participate in IEP meetings, develop goals, and maintain required student records
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for families and staff on best practices for supporting students who are visually impaired
