Teacher of Visually Impaired in Buford, GA

- Strong communication skills for collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Ability to travel to multiple school sites as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum as needed
- Assess students’ educational needs and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) focused on visual access and independence
- Consult with general education staff to facilitate effective accommodations and inclusion strategies
- Teach assistive technology, orientation and mobility skills, and other core competencies for visually impaired learners
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports for each student
- Act as a supportive resource for families regarding their child’s visual needs and school programming
