What You’ll Bring:
- A valid P–12 Special Education – Visual Impairment teaching certificate
- Or a Special Education certificate with Visual Impairment endorsement
- Experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or in a related role within K–12 schools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Dedication to fostering the growth and confidence of students with visual impairments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction for students with visual impairments
- Adapt curriculum materials and recommend accessible technology and resources
- Evaluate student needs and develop and monitor progress on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Coach and support classroom teachers, specialists, and families to implement accommodations
- Travel between multiple school sites as scheduled to deliver direct and consultative services
- Maintain timely documentation in compliance with state and district requirements
