Qualifications:
- Active Maryland teaching certification specific to visually impaired education (required)
- Experience working as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in school settings
- Familiarity with Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive educational materials
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational skills for managing documentation and student progress
Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with students, providing individualized and group instruction based on IEP goals
- Develop and modify lesson plans, classroom activities, and assessments for accessibility
- Facilitate the use of Braille and other accessible materials and technologies
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure full student participation
- Track student growth and progress, contributing to IEP meetings and documentation requirements
