Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with a specialization in visual impairment
- Experience working with school-age children and adapting curriculum materials
- Proficient in Braille and the use of assistive technologies for the visually impaired
- Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and advocacy
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Passion for supporting diverse learners in an inclusive educational setting
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction tailored to students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement accommodations
- Assess student progress and modify instructional strategies for optimal outcomes
- Provide guidance and training on assistive technology to students and staff
- Consult with parents and multidisciplinary teams to support students’ educational goals
- Create accessible instructional materials and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
