Teacher of Visually Impaired in Clovis, NM
Make a meaningful impact supporting K-12 students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a part-time contract position near Clovis, NM. What You’ll Do:
- Deliver expert instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments in group and individual settings
- Collaborate with general and special education teachers to develop and adapt materials
- Conduct functional vision assessments and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support and train staff in using assistive devices and instructional strategies
- Maintain clear documentation of student progress and participate in team meetings
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid New Mexico state licensure in Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS)
- Experience serving K-12 student populations strongly preferred
- Commitment to equitable, accessible education for students with diverse visual needs
- Able to work onsite for 21 hours per week (part-time schedule)
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative problem-solving skills
