What you’ll bring:
- Valid Washington State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification
- Fingerprinting clearance through OSPI, completed prior to start
- Demonstrated experience with braille instruction, adaptive technology, and accessibility strategies
- Skilled in creating and adapting instructional materials for diverse vision needs
- Experience collaborating with general and special education staff, families, and related service providers
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities, attention to detail with documentation and IEP service minutes
In this position, your primary responsibilities include:
- Serving a caseload of approximately 8 students, with varied levels of vision support, totaling about 15 hours per week
- Delivering instruction and support aligned with IEP goals, through weekly, monthly, and quarterly services
- Assessing student needs and progress, updating documentation and reports with accuracy
- Consulting with staff and parents to ensure accessible classrooms and materials
- Guiding teams on best practices and accommodations for students
- Being consistently available onsite from August 26, 2026, to June 16, 2027
