A part-time contract opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. This role is based onsite near Seattle, Washington, working with a supportive caseload of eight students, delivering individualized instruction and support in a vibrant school setting.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington state TVI certification (required)
  • Fingerprinting through OSPI required prior to start
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with visual impairments in school settings
  • Strong skills in adapting and modifying curriculum for accessibility
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive classroom

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide direct and consultative vision services tailored to each student’s needs, averaging 15 hours weekly
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students on caseload
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to promote student participation and success across settings
  • Adapt instructional materials, assistive technology, and environmental supports as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services and student progress in compliance with district and state guidelines
  • Deliver training and guidance on accessibility to staff and parents when needed
