Key Qualifications:
- Current Georgia educator certification specific to teaching students with visual impairments (TVI)
- Experience in schools, preferably working with a range of age groups or open to placements based on experience and preference
- Strong documentation habits—daily service logs are required
- Clear communication, flexibility, and a collaborative approach with school teams
- Willingness to fully support students onsite; remote candidates will not be considered
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide expert direct instruction and interventions for visually impaired students in a K–12 setting, using individualized techniques
- Develop and implement instructional materials based on students’ unique needs and IEP goals
- Maintain accurate daily service documentation and contribute thoughtfully to IEP meetings
- Engage families, staff, and other service providers to maximize student outcomes
- Adapt to evolving caseload assignments; placements are matched after discussion with leadership to ensure the best fit for both educator and students
