Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (B.A. or equivalent)
- Active state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience delivering individualized instruction to visually impaired students, preferably in a 1:1 clinical or classroom setting
- Familiarity with adaptive learning tools and technology for visually impaired learners
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for engaging with students, families, and school staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, personalized educational support to a pediatric student with visual impairment
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to adapt lessons and materials for accessibility
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and regularly monitor student progress
- Utilize specialized methods, including Braille instruction, low vision aids, and accessible technology
