You’ll collaborate with other educators and specialists to ensure students with visual impairments receive the individualized instruction and support they need to thrive.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) educator license
- Demonstrated experience working with students who have visual impairments in a school or educational setting
- Solid understanding of current instructional techniques and assistive technologies
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in managing a diverse, districtwide itinerant caseload
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt instructional strategies
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services for students with visual impairments at multiple school locations
- Assess student needs, develop customized goals, and track progress
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate inclusive learning
- Consult on the selection and integration of adaptive materials and assistive technology
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain thorough documentation in compliance with educational standards
- Provide orientation and mobility training as needed
This is an on-site role requiring travel between campuses during the school day. You’ll have an established schedule of 32.5 hours per week with supportive colleagues and the opportunity to positively shape the lives of students.
