Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Cypress, Texas

Key Qualifications:
- Valid TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) educator license
- Experience working as a Visually Impaired Teacher or similar role in school settings
- Familiarity with individual education plans (IEPs) and assistive technology for visually impaired students
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to travel throughout the school district for on-site services
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments from early childhood through graduation, adapting lessons to their unique needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans in partnership with school staff and families
- Consult with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure accessibility, classroom accommodations, and use of assistive technology
- Conduct on-site student assessments and contribute to eligibility determinations
- Engage with parents and guardians to support the academic and social development of students
- Maintain timely, accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
