As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, you’ll play a vital role in helping each student gain confidence and achieve their best.
Key Qualifications:
- Credentialed as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Demonstrated experience working with students with visual impairments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to partner effectively with staff and families
- Flexibility and adaptability for a “floating” role with assigned caseloads to be determined
- Commitment to fostering independence and educational success in diverse student populations
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and specialized support to students with visual impairments
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and instructional strategies
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers
- Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusion within classroom and school environments
- Adjust instructional methods in response to changing caseloads or student needs
