Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Certified Texas Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) required
- Current Texas educator certification
- Prior experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments preferred
- Ability to adapt instructional materials and strategies for diverse learners
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct specialized instruction to students with visual impairments
- Adapt general education materials to meet individual student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assist with orientation and mobility needs as appropriate
- Utilize assistive technology and resources tailored for visually impaired students
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports
