Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid educator certification as required by the state
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card must be current and on file
- Previous experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired preferred
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments
- Develop, implement, and adapt curriculum materials for accessibility
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ needs and track progress
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans
- Serve as a resource for staff to promote best practices in visual impairment education
