What we’re looking for:
- Valid educator certification required
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (must be current and provided with application)
- Experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or in a similar educational setting strongly preferred
- Ability to design and adapt curriculum and materials for students with varying levels of visual impairment
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, empowering classroom atmosphere
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Flexible and positive approach when working with diverse learning needs
- Willingness to work onsite for the entire school year
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or a related field desired
Your contributions will include:
- Delivering individualized and group instruction tailored to students with visual impairments
- Assessing student needs and maintaining up-to-date documentation
- Consulting with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure the best learning outcomes
- Assisting students with adaptive technology and orientation/mobility training as appropriate
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to the team’s student-centered approach
- Engaging with families to provide resources and support
- Adapting strategies and lessons as needed based on evolving caseload details
