Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification/license as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience in a school-based setting preferred, but not required
- Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive tools
- Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments
- Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet students’ individual needs
- Conduct assessments and track student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to promote student success
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute recommendations for goals and accommodations
- Stay current on best practices and emerging technologies in the field
