Desired Qualifications:

• State licensure and certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
• Experience with orientation and mobility instruction is an asset
• Familiarity with a variety of adaptive technologies and Braille
• Passion for individualized instruction and differentiated learning strategies
• Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with educators, families, and outside agencies
• A patient, resourceful approach and a strong commitment to student advocacy

Core Responsibilities:

• Assess student needs and develop tailored educational plans
• Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments, using adaptive and assistive technologies
• Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and learning environments
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Provide training and resources to staff and families on effective strategies and tools
