You’ll play a vital role throughout the 2026-2027 school year, working onsite and collaborating closely with educators and support staff to create an accessible and engaging educational environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Visually Impaired Teacher License and Massachusetts Department of Education (MA DOE) certification required
- Successful completion of MTELs (Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure)
- Demonstrated experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills
- Ability to tailor materials and instruction to diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and services for students with visual impairments in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assess students’ needs and progress while documenting and reporting outcomes
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement effective strategies and accommodations
- Support students with orientation, mobility, and adaptive technology
- Remain current with best practices and legal requirements related to visual impairments in education
