Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired license, issued by Massachusetts Department of Education
- Successful completion of MTELs
- Previous experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a school environment is highly valued
- Adaptability and clear communication skills
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive learning space
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction individually or in small groups to students with visual impairments
- Integrate appropriate adaptive materials and technology
- Collaborate closely with general and special education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Contribute to IEP development, progress monitoring, and ongoing student assessments
- Help facilitate access to the general curriculum, ensuring compliance with educational standards
- Advocate for the needs of visually impaired students within the school community
- Offer professional input during team meetings and consultations
