Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) required
  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
  • Experience working with pediatric populations, ideally in a 1:1 or special education environment
  • Expertise in adapting curriculum and materials for visually impaired students
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with both students and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, individualized instruction to a visually impaired student in a school environment
  • Adapt learning materials and classroom environments to meet accessibility and educational needs
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in coordination with other educators and therapists
  • Offer resources and training for faculty and family to support the student’s learning and independence
