Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) is required
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in the state
- Experience in 1:1 instruction, preferably with pediatric populations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt lessons and materials for individual student needs
- Reliable, with a caring, student-centered approach
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, individualized instruction and support to students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and ensure accessibility
- Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams regarding progress and strategies
- Maintain accurate progress records and provide input for student evaluations
- Offer guidance on use of adaptive technologies and accessible materials
