The role currently serves approximately 12-15 students, including a few homebound learners, with travel between about six different school locations. Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold an active Texas State Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TSVI) licensure
- Previous experience working in K-12 settings preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing caseloads and school assignments
- Confidence in providing instruction and support in both classroom and homebound settings
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments, adjusting strategies to meet varied needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and educational teams to develop and implement IEPs and provide necessary accommodations
- Conduct functional vision assessments and provide consults on assistive technology and classroom accessibility
- Keep detailed documentation on student progress and program effectiveness
- Support families with resources and strategies to enhance student independence
