Long-Term 1:1 Pediatric Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Jacksonville, AR

As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired working one-on-one with a pediatric student, you’ll leverage specialized skills to foster independence, build confidence, and personalize instruction.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or higher required
- Active state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Previous experience in 1:1 educational settings, preferably with pediatric students
- Strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills
- A compassionate, student-centered approach with an ability to adapt materials and curricula
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction tailored to the specific needs and abilities of the assigned student
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and family members to develop and implement effective visual learning strategies
- Adapt reading materials, technology, and classroom resources to maximize accessibility
- Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and actively participate in IEP meetings
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on visual impairment within the school environment
- Encourage and support the student’s participation in academic and extracurricular activities
