This full-time, on-site position focuses on supporting a pediatric student in a long-term assignment. Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required.
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in the state is mandatory.
- Experience working 1:1 with pediatric students strongly preferred.
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to a visually impaired student, focusing on academic, functional, and social skill development.
- Develop, implement, and assess progress toward Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and parents to support learning and inclusion.
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments to ensure accessibility.
- Provide direct instruction in Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and student data.
