ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a full-time opportunity in Lancaster, California for the 2026–2027 school year. This role supports elementary and middle school students across multiple sites and provides specialized instruction for students with visual impairments.
Position Details
- Position: Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Location: Lancaster, CA
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-Time
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- School Level: Elementary–Middle School
- Contract Dates: August 2026 – June 2027
- Caseload: Approximately 15 students
- Braille Caseload: No more than 5 students
- Travel: Required to commute between school sites and districts
- Pay Rate: starting at $45+
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction for students with visual impairments
- Deliver instruction in areas such as braille, expanded core curriculum, and accessibility skills
- Support students in both inclusion and specialized instructional settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Conduct assessments and maintain IEP documentation
- Ensure compliance with IDEA and state special education requirements
- Support student independence, mobility, and assistive technology use
Qualifications
- Active California TVI credential required
- Experience working with visually impaired students preferred
- Strong knowledge of braille instruction and assistive technology
- Ability to manage a traveling caseload across multiple sites
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
