Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with visually impaired students in an educational setting is highly preferred
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials to meet individual student needs
- Excellent communication skills, collaborating well with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility to manage a dynamic caseload and travel between school sites as needed
- Knowledge of current best practices in accessible instructional strategies and technology for visually impaired students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments across various school sites
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt classroom materials and environments to ensure accessibility and maximize student engagement
- Consult and collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and families
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ strengths, needs, and recommendations for services
- Track and document student progress with regular reports
