You’ll provide specialized instruction, consultation, and support to a diverse caseload of 35 students, five of whom require Braille instruction. Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification required
- Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in school settings preferred
- Familiarity with Monarch devices, or an enthusiasm to learn, is highly desired
- Comfortable delivering both direct and consultative services
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Deliver Braille instruction and orientation/mobility strategies to students who require them
- Provide consultation and support to general education staff and families
- Complete thorough student evaluations and maintain documentation as required
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create accessible and inclusive learning environments
- Stay updated on assistive technology, including Monarch devices, to enhance student engagement and independence
You’ll work full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday during regular school hours, ensuring a balance between your professional impacts and personal commitments.
