Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) educator license required
- Experience providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments
- Strong knowledge of instructional adaptations, Braille, assistive technology, and accessibility resources
- Ability to travel within the district for itinerant service delivery
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in a variety of school settings
- Assess students’ needs and develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Advise and train school staff on accommodations and best practices for visually impaired learners
- Maintain detailed records, progress reports, and communication with families and team members
- Advocate for student access, participation, and success across the curriculum and school activities
