Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Sugar Land, Texas

Key Qualifications:
- Valid and current Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) educator license required
- Experience teaching students with visual impairments across a range of grade levels preferred
- Comfortable with districtwide, itinerant caseloads and traveling between schools as needed
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external service providers
- Passionate about creating accessible and inclusive learning environments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in diverse settings in accordance with IEP goals and district policies
- Develop, modify, and implement individualized education plans
- Consult with general and special education teachers to support differentiation and accessibility
- Conduct functional vision assessments and help determine needs for assistive technology
- Provide guidance to families and staff to optimize student independence and access to the core curriculum
- Keep detailed records of student progress and maintain compliance with documentation and evaluation requirements
