Qualifications:
- Valid TVI educator license (required)
- Experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in school settings
- Strong understanding of accommodations, adaptive technologies, and Braille instruction
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Comfort traveling between schools within the district
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative vision-related instruction adapted to individual needs
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student access and success
- Conduct functional vision, learning media, and assistive technology assessments
- Offer advocacy, training, and resources to school personnel
- Maintain detailed records in compliance with district and state guidelines
