You’ll be based at one of the region’s top Education Centers, contributing your expertise during Extended School Year (ESY) summer programming. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your resume, develop leadership skills, and build relationships with a unique student population—all while exploring the Twin Cities.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience with students who have visual impairments; Braille proficiency preferred
- Previous work in special education settings, ideally with severe behavioral and physical disabilities
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to a caseload of 10-15 students, grades K-12
- Adapt materials and utilize assistive technologies for visually impaired learners
- Work in a single building, participating in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Deliver engaging ESY programming, Monday through Thursday, 8:45am-12:45pm
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress monitoring
