Working alongside talented colleagues in a supportive Special Education setting, you will build your resume through exposure to best practices in blind/visually impaired education, varied workplace approaches, and hands-on collaboration with seasoned leaders in the field. This experience provides valuable growth and new skills, enabling you to bring fresh perspectives back to future assignments.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI/BVI)
- Prior experience working with students who have severe behavioral and physical challenges preferred
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and building student autonomy
- Strong communication and adaptability skills
- Background working in ESY (Extended School Year) programs beneficial
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a caseload of 10–15 students ages K–12, providing individualized instruction
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across one central building
- Adapt materials and instruction for maximum accessibility
- Foster an encouraging learning environment compatible with a Setting 4 program
- Track student progress and communicate with families and staff
- Mon–Thurs, 8:45 am–12:45 pm, June 8 – July 16 (20 hours/week)
