This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated specialist skilled in providing vision services within a school environment. In this role, you will:
- Provide specialized instruction to two students with differing service needs.
- Deliver weekly vision services (15 minutes per week) to one student, including additional compensatory minutes to address prior missed sessions.
- Offer targeted support to a second student, consisting of short check-ins (3 minutes, twice annually).
- Collaborate with educational staff, families, and professionals to ensure accessibility and progress for students.
- Document sessions, progress, and maintain records in compliance with program and state guidelines.
- Utilize modern, effective strategies including remote (Voco) and in-person methods for maximum impact.
- Share insights and recommendations to foster inclusivity in the school community.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or eligibility to obtain relevant certification.
- Previous experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting is highly valued.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Adaptability and a student-centered approach to service delivery.
- Comfort working with various instructional technologies (Voco experience a plus).
