1:1 Pediatric 1:1 Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Frankfort, Kentucky

This long-term, contract role focuses on providing individualized support, working 1:1 with a pediatric student to help them thrive academically and personally. Your specialized skills will empower students to reach their full potential, and you’ll collaborate closely with school staff and families to create an engaging, accessible learning environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher is required
- Current state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience supporting pediatric learners, with a focus on 1:1 instruction strongly preferred
- Solid foundation in adapting curriculum and materials for students with visual impairments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work directly with a student in a 1:1 setting to deliver individualized instructional support in and out of the classroom
- Adapt lesson plans, instructional strategies, and materials to meet the unique learning needs of visually impaired students
- Monitor and document student progress, making data-driven adjustments to instructional plans as needed
- Partner with general education teachers, therapists, and families to foster a holistic educational experience
- Ensure accommodations and modifications are effectively implemented to maximize access to the curriculum
