- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)

- Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive tools for visually impaired learners
- Creative, flexible approach to lesson planning and adapting curriculum
- Patient, positive attitude and a passion for tailoring support to individual student needs
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on each student’s abilities and goals
- Teach Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility skills, and other core concepts
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify and adapt lesson materials
- Advocate for students’ needs and ensure accessibility to the wider school environment
- Serve as a supportive resource for parents, staff, and the school community
- Track progress and maintain accurate records for compliance and student growth
