Teacher for the Visually Impaired - Peabody, Massachusetts

Qualifications:
- Active Visually Impaired (VI) Teacher License
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Education (MA DOE) licensure
- Successful completion of MTELs (Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure)
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired preferred
- Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach to instruction
- Ability to adapt curriculum materials for visually impaired learners
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments
- Assess students’ needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with other educators, families, and specialists to foster student success
- Modify educational materials and use assistive technologies as appropriate
- Track student progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings
- Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
