Teacher for the Visually Impaired | West Chester, Pennsylvania
Empower students by providing specialized instruction as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) near West Chester, PA. The ESY session runs from July 6th to August 6th for five weeks, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 2:15 pm. The NSY follows the school year, beginning August 24, 2026, and finishing on June 4, 2027, with hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
What You Bring:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Experience delivering services to students with visual impairments in educational settings.
- Strong knowledge of Braille and accessible technology applications.
- Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families.
- Flexible, collaborative approach to meet diverse student needs.
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide daily specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and create accessible learning materials.
- Instruct students in Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility, as needed.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
- Participate in IEP meetings and document services as required.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence.
