Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Pennsylvania Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification (Instructional I or II required)
- Experience teaching students with visual impairments across K-12 preferred
- Strong knowledge of accessible instructional methods and adaptive technology
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and educational teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to visually impaired students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
- Assess student abilities and design individualized teaching strategies
- Modify curriculum materials and collaborate on technology solutions for accessibility
- Support classroom teachers in adapting lessons and ensuring a fully inclusive learning environment
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to families, addressing concerns and celebrating achievements
