This contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and continues through June 3, 2025, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (32.5 hours per week, 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.). Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Teacher of the Visually Impaired Certification (Instructional I or II)
- Experience teaching students who are visually impaired in grades K–12
- Solid understanding of best practices for accessible instruction and assistive technology
- Ability to create and adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are visually impaired across grades K–12
- Adapt classroom materials and activities for accessibility and individualized learning
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure student needs are met
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and progress monitoring
- Offer training and guidance in the use of assistive technology and Braille
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusion throughout the school community
