Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active TSVI licensure required
- Experience teaching students with visual impairments in a school setting
- Strong ability to adapt instructional techniques to meet diverse learning needs
- Comfortable working independently and traveling between campuses as an itinerant teacher
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering independence and confidence in students with visual impairments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to a caseload of 12-15 students, including a minimum of three homebound learners
- Serve approximately 6 campuses, with assignments that may shift according to student needs throughout the academic year
- Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and families to tailor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments to develop effective strategies and accommodations for each student's unique requirements
- Support integration and access to general curriculum, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility services as appropriate
- Document student progress and maintain up-to-date records in compliance with district and state standards
