- Effective communication skills for collaboration with families, staff, and other professionals
- Creative approach to adapting curriculum and materials for varied student needs
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Commitment to fostering inclusive and accessible learning environments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to visually impaired students across grade levels
- Conduct consultations with educational teams and families to address student needs
- Produce accessible materials, including braille transcriptions and tactile resources
- Provide or coordinate orientation and mobility training tailored to each student
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings to share insights and advocate for student accommodations
