Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Credentials as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or eligibility to obtain certification in Texas
- Previous experience supporting students with visual impairments in school settings
- Strong grasp of Braille, assistive technologies, and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Able to communicate effectively with students, families, and educational teams
- Organized, flexible, and able to manage multiple assignments effectively
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments across various grade levels
- Collaborate with educators to adapt classroom materials and curricula
- Assess students’ individual needs and develop tailored learning strategies
- Train classroom staff and family members on supporting visually impaired students
- Support the development and implementation of IEPs
- Stay updated with best practices and relevant legislation in the field
