Virtual Teacher of Visually Impaired in IA

A position is available for a Visually Impaired Teacher specializing in telehealth services within a school setting. This contract role is based in Des Moines, IA, offering the opportunity to deliver specialized educational support remotely to students with visual impairments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing individualized instruction and rehabilitation services to students with visual impairments via telehealth platforms
• Assessing students’ educational needs related to vision loss and developing tailored learning plans
• Collaborating with educators, parents, and support staff to integrate vision-related accommodations and assistive technology
• Monitoring progress and adjusting strategies to enhance student outcomes
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with educational and health regulations

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Certification or licensure in Teaching Students with Visual Impairments (TVI)
• Experience delivering services through telehealth or remote platforms
• Strong communication skills for effective virtual interaction with students, families, and school personnel
• Knowledge of assistive technologies and adaptive devices for visually impaired learners
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload remotely
