You'll serve students with visual impairments across multiple campuses in the vibrant area near The Colony, TX. Key Qualifications:
- Current certification in Visual Impairment (TVI)
- Previous experience serving students with visual impairments in school settings highly desired
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology, adapted curriculum, and Braille instruction
- Proven ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse student needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to travel across assigned campuses as part of a floating caseload
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments in both individual and small group settings
- Collaborate with general education and special education staff to ensure accessibility of instructional materials
- Assess student skills and develop Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals tailored to unique learning needs
- Provide functional vision assessments and recommend appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Train staff, families, and students on the use of specialized equipment, Braille, and adaptive technology
- Maintain accurate records and communications with IEP teams
