Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with school-aged children who have visual impairments
- Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and adaptive technology for visually impaired students
- Ability to manage an itinerant, multi-site caseload efficiently
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and administrators
- Flexibility and strong organizational abilities to succeed in a school-based, multi-site environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Travel between schools within the county, delivering instruction and support to students with visual impairments
- Develop, implement, and review IEP goals in coordination with student teams
- Recommend and facilitate the use of adaptive technology and materials
- Consult with classroom teachers to ensure inclusive and accessible learning environments
- Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills as needed
- Monitor and measure student progress, maintaining timely and thorough documentation
