Qualifications:
- Valid licensure appropriate for the role
- Experience working as an Assistive Technology Specialist
- Comfort and proficiency supporting students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
- Demonstrated success in 1:1 settings with students, particularly those with visual impairments
- Proficient in transcribing braille, with a strong understanding of assistive technology tools and adaptations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive educational environment
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 assistive technology support to students with diverse learning needs in various grade levels
- Transcribe instructional materials into braille for both students and Teachers of the Visually Impaired
- Collaborate with TVI staff to adapt and deliver curriculum content
- Train students and faculty in the effective use of assistive technology
- Implement strategies and solutions that offer equitable access to educational materials
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to maximize participation and achievement
