Key Qualifications:
- Current RN license in good standing.
- Demonstrated experience as an Assistive Technology Specialist, with strong knowledge of a variety of devices and software solutions designed to support individuals with disabilities.
- Experience interpreting and applying laws and regulations related to special education, Section 504, and IDEA.
- Strong advocacy, collaboration, and communication abilities across multidisciplinary teams.
- Comfort navigating student records, assessments, and individualized education program (IEP) documentation.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students, families, and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ needs and match them with appropriate assistive technology solutions to foster access and independence in the learning environment.
- Train students, staff, and families on the effective use of assistive technology devices and software.
- Evaluate and update documentation to ensure compliance with special education law and procedures.
- Support legal case review and provide expert nursing input on health and safety accommodations for students.
- Collaborate closely with educators, therapists, administrators, and legal personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of ethical nursing and educational practice.
